Retina Institute Of Hawaii Raises $1,400 and Conducts Over 50 Free Retinal Screenings For Step Out: Walk To Fight Diabetes

March 24, 2010

As part of its ongoing commitment to raise awareness of diabetic eye diseases, Retina Institute of Hawaii participated in this year’s Step Out: Walk for Diabetes.  The Oahu-based ophthalmology practice raised $1,400 for the walk and performed over 50 free retina screenings through its Project Vision mobile screening unit. A single screening takes about 10 minutes and can detect the early signs of diabetes along with other vision-impairing conditions.
