Clifton S. Otto, M.D.

Dr. Clifton S. Otto has been a member of the Retina Institute of Hawaii team for the past two years, during which time he has specialized in the medical treatment of retinal disease and has worked closely on the implementation of various national and in-house research studies. Dr. Otto is also instrumental in coordinating and supervising the operations of the Retina Institute of Hawaii’s community outreach program, Project Vision, which is a non-profit organization that provides free retina screenings.

Prior to joining Retina Institute of Hawaii, Dr. Otto served for three years as an Ophthalmologist at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan, where he was responsible for evaluating and treating retinal and general eye disease for military members and their dependents in all of mainland Japan.

Dr. Otto completed his medical training at New York Medical College and did his Transitional and Ophthalmology Residencies at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington.
